Gloomy Morning

Today is Benny's last day of pre-school. We were so excited for today, he went to school in his PJ's with his pillow and blanky for a movie day... the last hoorah. Then it hit me as I was driving him there- this is my last preschooler. It was a combination of the rain, Benny's excitement to move on and looking back at him realizing he's growing up. I stayed strong until I kissed him goodbye at the door of his school. I got in my car and wept the whole entire way home. I'm sad today. There is a part of me that doesn't want my kids to grow up, and they are... too fast. I remember how everyone told me this would happen and yeah yeah I thought, but how true it is. I miss my "babies".

So today after school Benny and I are going to go have a special lunch to celebrate the ending of a chapter and beginning of new adventures. I will stay strong...

Mudders Day

Today was a great Mother's Day. Every Mother's Day I look back in awe that I am a Mom... I love it. It has it's ups and downs just like everything, but there is not a more challenging or rewarding job in the entire world. Who would have ever thought the girliest girl would have a couple-o-rowdy boys... I had it comin! It is so much fun and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. I love my children so stinking much, and here is how they expressed their love for me today:

I got home from work this morning and Benny and S. Stink greeted me with hugs and kisses which were my fav next to... presents. They picked out an oh so cute sundress for their mommy to wear. Who can say though, that those home-made gifts aren't the best? They are. This year though the things they said about beloved Mom are what touched me. Benny made a ladybug rock and a list of the "top ten reasons why I love my mom". Here they go...

10- I love my Mom because she reads me books at night.
9- I love my Mom because she helps me tie my shoes.
8-I love my Mom when she makes me laugh by tickling my armpits.
7- I love my Mom because she taught me how to cook with her.
6- I love to hear my Mom sing nothing. <------MY PERSONAL FAVORITE.
5-I love my Mom because she finds time to take me to the park.
4-I know my Mom cares because she just loves me.
3-I know my Mom is smart because she went to school to become a Nurse.
2-I love my Mom because she works so hard at being a Mommy.
1-I love my Mom because she is the best Mom ever.

I love you too, Benny.

Now S. Stink had a "Mothers Day" event at his school that I attended. He sang to me, served me muffins and punch, and I even got to walk down the aisle at school while his teacher shared some memories of mom off of his "mom facts" page he filled out. Here is this honest list below.

-What do you call her? mom

Don't you just love honest Kinders? The funny thing is that they got read to the whole kindergarten class, yup. I got to witness another one of those honest Kinders confess that her Mom "makes top Ramon for dinner." Love it! Stink also made me a flower, a memory box and gave me lots of hugs and kisses.

Thanks Stink, mama loves you.

To all of those wonderful Mothers out there who still on this day said "go to your room" and "you better eat all that", wiped snot at breakfast, and kissed lips that had juice stains on them just like I did... HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
