Benny & The Bunny

Before April is over I wanted to blog about the wonderful time I had this year at Benny's Easter Picnic put on by his preschool annually. It was such a nice time just me and my Benny that day. We got our picnic blanket, food, and sat with some friends. He got to play with his kids from class and sing/dance/take pictures with the Easter Bunny. This year the bunny was Ms. Tara, Benny's teacher. Benny didn't know and didn't care, but I'm sure he wondered why the Bunny was so extra nice to him.

He's off to the big Kindergarten next year... I will sure miss these days and events...

Confessions on a Turdsday

According to my oldest, today is Turdsday not Thursday. Today was a different homework day. Now I must confess, I am not the best person to do homework with Sergeant Stink. I like to be silly and mess around. Mostly because phonograms, spelling lists, and congruent shapes are just too serious at times. Stink knows his stuff too. So I guess I'd be more uptight if he didn't have everything memorized. Today I was extra silly during homework. I like to make up funky sentences out of the spelling list and and flick my feet on his desk because it makes him laugh. When the "ur" phonogram comes up I say "Come on now... eeerrrr as in??!!" and in his monotone voice he uses because I exhaust this says "nurse". "Mom, stop it your being crazy today" he says. Then I stop and look at him and he's all teary eyed. I felt really bad because I thought I seriously got on his last nerve at this point. "What's wrong?" I ask him all sweet and motherly. "I broke brothers belt and I'm really really really sorry" he confessed as he's wiping his alligator tears away rolling down his cheeks. I assured him that- honey this is okay!! I guess he needs some more of moms therapeutically silly homework sessions more often...

Iowa

Most of you know that I am from Iowa. I went back recently for a family wedding with my mom and sister. I love going there. It is so peaceful and quiet. Everything is green and mature. I love seeing that things grow without an irrigation system. I love how most homes don't have backyards and neighbors are like family. I love seeing my family there. But 4 days was pretty much my limit. Although I do enjoy a change, I am a city girl at heart and boring it gets there. However- my best childhood memories lye in that state fishing with my grandparents (with home-made fishing poles) and all the lake sports at the lake house my grandparents had. It was good to be back...

And now eh uhm.. let me introduce to you all... the one and only...

Cougar aka my Mother

Yes, she was drinking her rum and diet cokes at the wedding, I called it her cougar juice. She had way too many and the claws came out folks. I saw with my very own eyes, her droppin' it to the dance floor all the while kicking her leg out. She even smacked someone in the bootay. Whew, nothing a good rum and coke can't cure I guess because you could swear she didn't have back problems that night. :)

We seriously had so much girl fun together and the wedding was a good time. Thanks Mom and Jo for taking great care of me there, I wuvs ya.

So Proud

Look at this!! I'm stoked! My little guy gets defensive player of the game today and coach honored that with a football, saweeeet. Today was rough though. It was the team's first time losing a game... yes, we were undefeated. We had a double header this morning and both games we lost. It was sad. Everyone has their "off" days and today was theirs. Hopefully we can bring it back next week.

Stink is having so much fun with football and he is super good at it too. He has scored multiple touch-downs in one game and we all get so excited. It is so much fun to watch, plus I'm learning the sport better too. Stink is very competitive and dedicated to this sport. Before the "crack of dawn" game last week at 8am Stink told me that he has to go to bed early tonight so that he can rest up for his game the next day. He even willingly left the neighbors house full of kids, candy, a hot tub, and wii so he could get his zzzz's. Downfall: He is very passionate about his games. He gets into it... really into it. Plus he's hard on himself anyway, just his personality. So if someone pulls his flag when he's got the ball the tears start. He was beyond frustrated today and very weepy. Yes, that's gotta stop we know. We had a pep talk and next week we decided to growl instead of cry. We will see... Way to go Stink, we are proud!
